The Style Dolls

Happy Hump Day Dolls!

Today’s topic is BAGS, SHADES & SCARVES! 

Out of all the wonderful aspects of fashion, my favorite would have to be accessories! I am OBSESSED with BAGS, SHADES, & SCARVES!  You will never catch me outside of the house without one of these pieces on! I believe without a doubt,that no matter how basic your look is, it can instantly be glammed up with a nice handbag, some dope shades, and multi purpose-printed scarf. Today I did a little cyber surfing and found these super cute pieces, all at very reasonable prices! 

My 1st stop of course was Nordy!(www.nordstrom.com) I found these amazing AJ Morgan Retro Round sunglasses for ONLY $24!

I then strolled over to www.asos.com and found this River Island Chartruese Mini (which happens to be in my new favorite color) for $96.75.

While over at Asos I found a new staple piece to add to the wardrobe! River Island Tiger Face scarf for only $21.11….you know I couldn’t pass that up right?!

 I didn’t truly fall in love with fashion until I explored the world of Vintage. Before I  really got into wearing vintage clothing, I watched my friend Tiffany White put together amazing looks day after day. Each time I would ask about a piece she was wearing, her response was always , “oh I got this from the thrift store”. I became curious about the treasures inside “The Thrift” and eventually became an expert. I then became the girl with the response, “Oh I got this from the thrift”. “The Thrift” became like a candy shop to me! I would spend HOURS in thrift stores to find the dopest pieces for the lowest prices. I loved hitting the town in an outfit that I was sure would not be copied. This is when I really adopted my personal style. Back in 2011 I debuted an amazing Royal Blue vintage dress at a Detroit fashion show,I got so many compliments and questions about my dress that only cost me $1.20! Yep, there was no doubt…Vintage was my thing!

 My love affair with vintage began while prepping for my very first photo shoot as a wardrobe stylist for a boutique that I was interning with during my final semester of college. They were a few doors down from a well known vintage shop and out of curiosity I checked them out and I was just amazed at the chicness and quality of the garments. I honestly felt like a little girl all over again wanting to play dress up. Renting vintage clothing for shoots became “my thing”. I was so wrapped up in shoots that I had never really considered actually incorporating vintage into my personal wardrobe until I began to hear the term “thrifting”…I loved the idea of collaborating vintage with more modern looks and not having to spend a lot of money, something my husband has grown to appreciate.  It was a new found love and I’ve been hooked ever since.
As Daisy and I aimed to set ourselves apart from other wardrobe stylists, incorporating our shared loved for vintage was like finding that missing piece. It was a “no brainer”!  We, The Style Dolls, aren’t going anywhere and we have so much to offer the industry. But we can and will show it better than it could ever be told…2013 will be proof!

As the year ends we really want to get back to our 1st love…VINTAGE! But of course, vintage isn’t the only thing we’re into…. As the original idea was birthed, The Style Dolls are STYLIST, our goal is to bring you affordable, one of a kind pieces and to STYLE it to the T! Starting January 1, 2013 The Style Dolls are GOING HARD! We’ll be bringing you all things; FASHIONABLE, all things STYLISH, all things AFFORDABLE and bringing it with all the LOVE from the bottom of our hearts!
